UGI ENDOSCOPY

UGI Endoscopy is a medical procedure used to examine the upper part of the digestive system. This includes the esophagus (food pipe), stomach, and the first part of the small intestine (duodenum). In this procedure, a thin and flexible tube called an endoscope is used. It has a small camera and light at its tip. The doctor gently inserts this tube through the mouth to view the internal organs clearly on a screen.

Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy is a medical procedure used to examine the inner lining of the large intestine (colon) and rectum. In this procedure, a thin, flexible tube called a colonoscope is used. It has a small camera and light at its tip. The doctor inserts this tube through the anus to view the inside of the colon on a screen.

ERCP

ERCP is a specialized medical procedure used to diagnose and treat problems related to the bile ducts, pancreas, and gallbladder. This procedure combines endoscopy and X-ray imaging. A thin, flexible tube called an endoscope is passed through the mouth into the stomach and then into the first part of the small intestine (duodenum). A contrast dye is then injected into the bile and pancreatic ducts, allowing clear images to be seen on X-ray.

Capsule Endoscopy

Capsule endoscopy is a modern, non-invasive, and painless diagnostic procedure used to examine the inside of the small intestine (small bowel). In this procedure, the patient swallows a small capsule that contains a tiny camera, light, and transmitter. As the capsule travels through the digestive tract, it captures thousands of images and sends them to a recording device worn on the body.

Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)

Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) is an advanced medical procedure that combines endoscopy and ultrasound technology to examine the digestive tract and nearby organs in detail. In this procedure, a thin, flexible tube called an endoscope is used, which has a small ultrasound probe at its tip. The doctor inserts this tube through the mouth or anus to obtain high-quality images of internal organs and surrounding structures.

Cholangioscopy

Cholangioscopy is a specialized endoscopic procedure used to directly visualize the inside of the bile ducts (biliary system). It allows doctors to examine, diagnose, and sometimes treat conditions affecting the bile ducts more precisely. In this procedure, a very thin, flexible scope (cholangioscope) is passed through an endoscope—usually during an ERCP procedure—into the bile ducts. This provides real-time, high-quality images of the अंदरूनी नलिकाएँ (inner bile ducts).

Single Balloon Enteroscopy

Single Balloon Enteroscopy is an advanced endoscopic procedure used to examine and treat the deeper parts of the small intestine, which cannot be reached by conventional endoscopy or colonoscopy. In this procedure, a specialized endoscope along with a balloon system is used. The balloon helps in gently gripping and straightening the intestine, allowing the scope to move deeper into the small bowel for detailed examination and treatment.

Manometry

Manometry is a diagnostic test used to measure the pressure and movement of muscles in certain parts of the body, especially the digestive system. It is most commonly used to assess the functioning of the esophagus (food pipe), anus, and rectum.

Cash Counter / Reception

In a Gastroenterology department, the Cash Counter is the billing and payment section where patients pay for medical services related to digestive system care.
Collection of consultation fees from gastroenterologists
Payment for diagnostic procedures like endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, etc.
Billing for laboratory tests, scans, and reports.
Issuing receipts and invoices for all services.
OPD (Outpatient) consultation billing.
Endoscopy unit procedures billing.
